February 13-15, Austin, TX. #VSCOcam

this weekend I've spent about 17 hours driving, 14 hours shooting, and 11 hours sleeping. in the middle of all that, I also took or was a part of more selfies than anyone should ever admit to.

I shot 2 incredibleeee seniors (that I so gladly call friends now!) in the Austin area, and collaborated with Anna Kraft Hein (an awesome photographer) and her sweet husband for a newly-married shoot in Gruene.

even though I don't get weekends off, I couldn't be more grateful + happy + alive.

(now here are way too many photos of my face + the best weekend.)

february 6-8, DFW area #VSCOcam

weekend in review. iphone only, of course.

roadtrip to dallas area. wedding in weatherford. 1AM nights, 5 & 6AM mornings. even with the lack of sleep, i couldn't ask for a happier life. this job + being 20 + getting paid to travel & do what i love is literally the coolest.

january 23rd, #VSCOcam

so, I've been stuck in bed since Wednesday evening. some sort of virus decided it would take over my life for a while. today I've been moving about + I'm finally reallyyy able to look at screens (or anything for that matter).  I don't recall anyone ever mentioning how painful laying in bed can be after a while. talk about sore. today I am remember how much I have to be grateful for. health is a gift.

I skyped into class this morning. trying not to spread the bug. sharing isn't always caring, ya know?  so that was cool. (I love my people.)

the rest of the afternoon was a sprint to catch up on emails + messages + reworking my schedule. and this evening I gathered courage, put on real clothes, and headed out for adventure.  ⭐️ forest exploration and such (kombucha in hand). really I needed the fresh air and needed to pick final locations for tomorrow's engagement sesh. (can't wait to share that gorgeous couple with you all... seriously. absolute babes... soon, soon.)

heres an assortment of iphone captures from tonight. It's cool being able to blog directly from my mobile. I like it a lottt. I know it's only 6, but I think I'm going to bed now. goodnight friends ✌️

CHRISTMAS EVE : love out loud

Christmas Eve this year was spent with my family in downtown Houston, volunteering with Love Out Loud.

it was a day filled with gratitude. a somber reminder of just how blessed we are... and just how many people out there have hardships that they carry like the world on their shoulders. these are humans with lives filled with hurts, but somehow still, they wear thankfulness like coats. covered in joy, moved with gratefulness for even just a meal on a Christmas Eve. a day most of them spend alone, still on the streets. it is a reminder to love. a reminder that there are stories that have yet to be told. that there are people with no voices, people who need to be heard.

many thanks to Love Out Loud for loving and taking care of those who are normally invisible. (and for letting me photograph the incredible work you are doing in the name of Jesus Christ.)

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’// Matthew 25:35-40

FOG & LIGHT-TRAILS

Grey-brother (one of the five i call my own) is home from A&M, it's christmas break, it's nearly 2015, and life is incredibly blessed. i am grateful.

my days are full of dreams (ones with orange and pink hues), i purchased a new lens, and it feels victorious. i have travels and shoots on the books for the next 7 months. i am finally blogging again, and trying to get better about sharing more about my personal life. (figuring out how important that isss.) so yes, i'm a human, hi hello. a girl behind a camera, chasing my dream of doing photography full time and all over this wonderful earth. this is everything i've ever wanted. i'm so grateful for the many that follow my work and have encouraged me along the way. you are all my favorites. XO's and see you around the web. ;)

WEDDING EXTRAS

apart from the First Look, I took very few photos during Ethan and Hannah Joy's wedding. in this post are the few that happened while I was lugging my camera around.

notice my father laying down in the snow... the conversation went something like this:

dad: WATCH ME MAKE A SNOW ANGEL

me: oh my word, let me take a picture

dad: don't tell your mother

REHEARSAL // 12/13/14

tomorrow, in the honey-tinted afternoon light, underneath endless colorado sky, snuggled into the snow-dusted mountains of the evergreens, Hannah Joy and Ethan become one... and then the post-ceremony celebrations will be hosted in THIS gem. (so we can warm our cold toes and dance into the evening.)
